Zandronum 3.2 is a Doom source port that re-engineers the 1993 classic for large-scale online combat, continuing the lineage begun by the now-discontinued Skulltag. Built on a client/server architecture, the software supports up to 64 concurrent players and offers competitive modes such as Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Duel, Last Man Standing, Possession, Terminator and Skulltag, alongside cooperative options including Survival and Invasion; optional modifiers like Instagib and Buckshot can be layered on top of any session. The port is compatible with the broader ZDoom/GZDoom ecosystem, accepting single-player and multiplayer mods released up to 2014, and it extends support to related id-Tech-1 titles such as Heretic, Hexen and Strife. Users may switch between an OpenGL renderer for high-resolution textures and dynamic lighting or a legacy software renderer for authentic visuals, while modern conveniences—console access, Quake-style key bindings, freelook and jumping—are present in either mode. Additional features include announcer voice packs, player skins, runes, custom weapons and monsters for mod authors, built-in bots with support for user-created AI, and full compatibility with legacy Skulltag content. The project is open-source, with current development hosted on Heptapod under a permissive license, and binaries are maintained for contemporary Windows, macOS and Linux distributions. Three major public releases have appeared to date, with 3.2 representing the most recent stable milestone. Zandronum is available for free on get.nero.com, where downloads are provided through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always delivering the latest version and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
